HI, USA
why hello! first blog from the new apartment. aka, i'm blogging for the first time ever in pelican bay, my new home away from home away from home. :)
i really don't have much to say, but i know i was suppose to talk about adventures in hawaii, but i'm sleepy. plus, fran posted a bunch of pictures via facebook. which defeats the purpose of me posting pics here. i've been sleeping at about 11pm the past week and a half or so. i'd say i get 10 hours of sleep each night, plus a 1 hour nap at around 3pm. it's sad. i've even lost muscle mass. dude, it's so hard to carry and move stuff around. currently i have an upset stomach. dinner i suppose, but dinner was good and i'm gonna eat the left overs for lunch today.
hmm...maybe i'll talk about hawaii for a bit. snips of each day. basically hawaii was probably one of the best family vacations ever...seriously.
monday: started off with going 100 ft. underwater in a submarine to look at fish and coral. it was cool. imagine the finding nemo ride at dland, but u don't see the surface of the water and well the fish are real and there's more space to move around in the submarine. anyways, it was cool. we saw Gill from finding nemo. then we went to the magic sands beach. it's called magic sands, because when it's high tide, the sand disappears and the waves just crash up on the road. there were also a lot of fish there too.
tuesday: hurrican warning day. a hurrican was suppose to smash up against the big island, but luckily it went right past us. practically all the beaches were closed, so we just swam in the pool and my dad barbequed. then we walked around downtown.
wednesday: we drove to the other side of the island and visited the city of hilo. we went to big island candies. that was great stuff, especially if you like chocolate. we also visited rainbow falls which gets its name from the fact that rainbows often appear at this waterfall. it was beautiful. in fact much of the driving was beautiful. the scenery was awesome. we also went to waikaloa beach. it was actually getting a little dark already, but my dad wanted to check it out so we went. we swam for a bit, but we couldn't see anything in the water. it kinda freaked me out because of shark week and all, but ehh...you only live once.
thursday: went to another beach that was recommended. i can't remember the name, but mayn that was one of the prettiest beaches ever. the waves were a bit strong, but it was nice. that night we went to a luau. think pcn, but polynesian style and with hawaiian food. it was neat. oh and a guy did what david did in lilo and stitch with the twirling of fire stuff.
friday: went to the volcanos. fyi, there's a rainforest on the volcano. now that's crazy stuff. it's fun decoration i guess. anyways, there were a lot of craters obviously. and lots of sulfur. advise, avoid the yellow powdered looking areas, that's the sulfur stuff. it was also windy cuz we were so high. personally i was nervous. apparently it's due to erupt. but i guess lots of people visit that national park all the time. actually there's a trail that was ruined due to an eruption and several visitors died. which is also why i was nervous. anywho, i'm good and it didn't erupt even though there was also an earthquake while we were there. we ended up driving around the whole island that day.
saturday: we drove up north. we went on an adventure. basically we were in a hummer like vehicle, but it's called a pinzgauer. it's a swiss made all-terrain military utility vehicle. look it up if you want to. it felt like the indiana jones ride at disneyland. they drove us to this lake and swam under a waterfall, it was cool. they drove us mostly around the countryside and through some rainforest areas. we hiked for a bit too.
yup, that's the gist of it all. it was great. but now it's late. so i'm going to sleep more. i don't know, i feel like i have more to say, but this was already long and i'm tired.
actually there IS more to say, i just don't feel like typing at the moment. okay, good night everybody! seriously, my stomach is still mad at me. argh. i need to move my desk upstairs and man! i love this laser pointer cuz sissy's super afraid of it. haha, sorry kathee. she's cute though and the air purifier helps a lot. :D
okay, seriously, good night. hey, guess what angie's currently my room roommate. alright, good night.
