just letting the moments pass by, but savoring every bit of it.

i can't quite figure out why it's been so long since i last blog. the past few weeks have definitely been filled with blog worthy moments, but for some reason i can't seem to collect my thoughts. it's funny because this quarter, i feel like i've written more than i ever have in the span of 9 weeks. of course that's academically speaking. writing just for the heck of writing, on the other hand, has taken a back seat. but yes, the academic writing continues as 10th week dawns on us. i suppose that's a good thing. nothing wrong with improving ones writing skills, i guess.

anyways, thanksgiving was delicious as usual. with all the mashed potatoes and turkey, my stomach couldn't be anymore content. and plus, yesterday i decided to dedicate the whole day to a day of eating, laughing, resting and catching up on tv. haha, nothing quite spectacular, but since i consider home to be one of my favorite places on earth, i'd count it as a very extraordinary day. and i think the 10 hours of sleep last night put my cold in its place. i feel it slowly diminishing which is very exciting. :)

so i guess a few comments i had about the past weeks have to do with benefit concert. somehow as i was doing what i was doing that day, it slipped my mind that i was a fourth year. and not it's my last benefit concert or anything, but there was a moment. it was just a few seconds where i suddenly realized i was graduating college. it wasn't this huge, overwhelming, emotional thought. it was just a quick pause, a soft caress to the face if you will. i guess, in that short moment, i began to reminicse about the past 3 years with a slight emphasis on benefit concert. mentally captured moments fluttered through my mind. faces, voices, jokes and such. all these thoughts of what's changed and how i've changed. it's kinda weird, kinda funny, but a good weird, a good funny. and wow, to finally find myself where you once stood, now that's quite amazing.

oh yea and i also realized that my second blog entry ever was about my first benefit concert and the lessons learned from it. i think i mentioned the alumni talking it up in the family room of shawshank as i wrote the entry. and now, i've found myself in that same exact apartment, 7 months short from being one of those alumni. well, here's a little snippet of what i wrote:

"so i sit, typing at my desk, listening to a bunch of alumni talk in the family room here at shawshank. even though i don't know them, it's so nice to hear them cuz they sound so happy to simply be in each others company again like old times, or so i would assume. it just makes me smile and hope that one day, not too far in the future, but not to soon, i can come back here and talk to old friends from liwanag and be just as happy as they are like no time has ever passed. :)"

i was right, so far it hasn't been too far in the future, nor has it come to soon. at this very moment, i feel like it's come on time.

in all honesty though, i fear that statement greatly. because i know anything i say tends to go in the exact opposite, in what i'd assume to be a strengthening moment. anyways, that's another story to be told, for another night. so, until then...good night. and thanks.

p.s. side note: one of the comments from that old entry was kathee. that's all. :)
