so in my attempts to eat healthy and get into shape i have failed. i ate lunch twice today. *sigh* and both lunches weren't very healthy either. a burrito bowl and in-n-out burger with fries. but it's all good. i shall try again tomorrow.
anyways, i had lunch yesterday with my old tennis coach and a couple friends from the team. it was fun catching up, listening to my old coach complain about the new team. you see we were his first tennis team at RCHS and thus his favorite. but by the way he describes the girls of the new team, i'm pretty sure they don't have a chance. sad but true. also, they don't sound competitive enough nor determined to win. so alas the girls team has yet to improve like the boys team. another *sigh*. but then again this is all based on opinion...my coach's opinion for that matter. perhaps i'll check them out at practice next week...maybe even hit a few.
oh and today i got to do some wine tasting at J. Filippi winery and vineyards. my first time! i mean i live on the border of rancho and ontario and you'd think i'd check this place out earlier considering rancho cucamonga's history of vineyards and wineries. anyways, it was fun and cheap, can't go wrong with that. i ended up tasting 6 different wines, one champagne and a few sips of my friends' wines. i personally tasted 1 white wine, 2 red wines, 2 ports, 1 dessert wine, and champagne. it was almond champagne and delicious. also it was my first time drinking with this group of high school friends...haha. it was funny, they're funny. also the woman pouring our drinks was friendly. =D
surprisingly enough i enjoyed 5 out of 7. i started with a sauvignon blanc. personally i haven't tasted a white wine that i dislike and still the streak continues. i then moved on to a cabernet franc and well to my amazement i didn't mind it much. everytime my dad pours me a glass of cabernet, i never care for it, but sips of this one wasn't bad at all. maybe i just don't like drinking the whole glass. anyways, my third drink was something called "big joe red." this was a combination of cabernet sauvignon and petite sirah. i didn't like it much. it had a bitter nutty after taste. finally i moved onto the ports. i first had a fondante ciello. it was basically chocolate in wine form. i liked it! then i had an alicante bouschet port. at first i didn't care for it, but then i took another sip with some chocolate and i enjoyed the flavors much more. the last dessert wine i had was raspberry regale with almond champagne. this was delicious! so delicious i think abby would like it...haha. i was told that you can't go wrong ending with almond champagne...so i did. and thus concluded my afternoon of wine tasting. =)
i'm curious to continue wine tasting at different wineries. i'm hoping that i can learn more about different wines because honestly after those last 7 drinks, i can't really explain much. i also can't describe the flavors to the best of my ability. so...anyone up for wine tasting "practice"? =D
i guess in the end it was a good thing i ate lunch twice! =P
until next time!
