caution

i discovered that i hate watching tv during the month of October. not because the shows suck (in fact, i love the shows) but because of all the political candidate commercials. seriously, these commercials are beyond annoying. it always starts off positive, each candidate saying what they stand for and how amazing they are, then somewhere around October and even late September, every political candidate starts throwing a bunch of "low blows." and that's not to say that the commercials aren't true, shoot...i'm pretty sure it's all true. but society's too dumb to figure it out for themselves so they trust a bunch of ugly images and a low tone voice telling them about all the horrible things the other candidate did or will cause "if elected." first of all, kids see tons of these commercials and for all they know, when they try to take power of any position in their near future, i'm sure they'll remember these "oh so great vote for me ads." i know taking shots at each other is something political candidates have been doing for decades, actually i'm pretty sure for centuries, in one way or another. and maybe this is naive of me to even ask, but whatever happened to having good form during a fight? in the words of jack banning (aka peter banning's son aka peter pan from the movie "hook") as captain hook cheated, "bad form...bad form!!"

okay, the only actual reason I even thought about all this is because of one particular commercial that freaking pisses me off...like i am disgusted by the statement. seeing or hearing that part of the ad just makes me tense up inside with pure frustration. and it's not even about my political views or who i'm going to vote for. it's just the statement itself is ridiculous. the statement i'm referring to if you haven't heard or seen it is, "she'll make abortion a crime." oh no, God forbid we actually write/approve a law that makes sense during such a chaotic time in American history. umm...hello? abortion is a crime...ever heard of murder, stupid? okay, calling the candidate stupid is pretty immature of me, but it's such common sense, even outside of my religious views. and to this day i don't get it, 37 years. it literally brings me to tears. and if you don't even want the baby, leave him or her at a hospital or fire/police department. and along those same lines, maybe politicians can think of ways to fix our failing foster care system instead of fighting to prevent kids from ever entering the system by legally killing babies! **just breathe**

alright, that was harsh and very forward of me, but i did say caution in the beginning. plus it's 40 days for life, so outside of my daily prayers and meditation for an end to abortion, there are my very open and evident thoughts.

other than that, i'm pretty good. and i hope you have a good day!
